Accessibility Statement

We believe that access to mental health resources should be barrier-free. Our commitment to accessibility reflects our commitment to serving everyone.

Our Commitment to Accessibility

Yoma Psychiatric Solutions is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities. We believe that everyone deserves equal access to information about mental health services, and we strive to provide an inclusive digital experience for all visitors.

Accessibility is not a one-time effort — it is an ongoing commitment that we integrate into every aspect of our website design and development.

Conformance Goal

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA standards. These guidelines are developed by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and represent the internationally recognized standard for web accessibility. WCAG 2.1 AA compliance addresses the needs of people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

Measures We Have Taken

We have implemented the following measures to support the accessibility of our website:

Semantic HTML

Our website is built with proper semantic HTML elements such as headings, landmarks, lists, and navigation structures. This ensures that assistive technologies like screen readers can accurately interpret and convey the content and structure of each page.

ARIA Attributes

Where standard HTML alone is insufficient, we use ARIA (Accessible Rich Internet Applications) attributes to provide additional context for interactive elements, dynamic content, and complex UI components. This includes proper labeling of buttons, forms, modals, and navigation menus.

Keyboard Navigation

All interactive elements on our website — including links, buttons, form fields, menus, and modals — are fully navigable using only a keyboard. We provide visible focus indicators to help keyboard users identify their current position on the page. A "Skip to Content" link is available at the top of every page to allow users to bypass repetitive navigation.

Color Contrast

We have designed our color palette to meet WCAG 2.1 AA contrast ratio requirements. Text and interactive elements maintain sufficient contrast against their backgrounds to ensure readability for individuals with low vision or color vision deficiencies. We do not use color alone to convey information.

Alternative Text

All meaningful images on our website include descriptive alternative text (alt text) that conveys the content and function of the image. Decorative images are marked appropriately so that screen readers will skip them, reducing unnecessary noise for assistive technology users.

Responsive Design

Our website is designed to work across devices and screen sizes, from mobile phones to desktop monitors. Content reflows properly at different zoom levels (up to 200%) and adapts to various viewport sizes without loss of information or functionality.

Reduced Motion

We respect the "prefers-reduced-motion" operating system setting. When this preference is enabled, animations and transitions on our website are minimized or eliminated to accommodate individuals who experience discomfort from motion effects.

Form Accessibility

All form fields include visible labels and are properly associated with their labels for screen reader users. Error messages are clearly communicated and associated with the relevant fields. We provide clear instructions for completing forms.

Known Limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of our website may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:

  • Third-party content: Some embedded content from third-party platforms (such as appointment scheduling widgets or social media feeds) may not fully conform to WCAG 2.1 AA standards, as we do not have direct control over their development. We work with vendors who prioritize accessibility and advocate for improvements when issues are identified.
  • PDF documents: Some older PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these documents and make accessible alternatives available upon request.

Reporting Accessibility Issues

We take accessibility feedback seriously. If you encounter any barriers or have difficulty accessing content on our website, please let us know. Your feedback helps us improve the experience for everyone.

When reporting an issue, please include:

  • The web address (URL) of the page where you experienced the issue
  • A description of the problem you encountered
  • The assistive technology you were using, if applicable (screen reader, magnification software, etc.)
  • Your browser and operating system

We will do our best to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 business days and to resolve any issues in a timely manner.

Accommodation Requests

If you need assistance accessing any information or services provided through our website, we are happy to help. We can provide information in alternative formats upon request, including:

  • Large print documents
  • Screen-reader-friendly text versions of PDF documents
  • Phone-based assistance for navigating our website or completing forms

Please contact us to request accommodations, and we will work with you to find a suitable solution.

Third-Party Content Disclaimer

Our website may link to or embed content from third-party services, including scheduling platforms, payment processors, social media platforms, and patient portals. While we strive to partner with vendors who share our commitment to accessibility, we cannot guarantee that all third-party content meets WCAG 2.1 AA standards.

If you encounter accessibility issues with any third-party content accessed through our website, please contact us so we can assist you and raise the issue with the relevant vendor.
