PTSD & Trauma

Healing from trauma is possible — you deserve support on that journey.

What is PTSD & Trauma?

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can develop after experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. Trauma affects people differently — not everyone who experiences trauma develops PTSD, but for those who do, the impact can be profound and long-lasting. With compassionate, evidence-based care, recovery is absolutely possible.

Common Symptoms

  • Intrusive memories, flashbacks, or nightmares
  • Emotional numbness or feeling detached from others
  • Avoidance of reminders of the trauma
  • Hypervigilance — being constantly on alert
  • Irritability, anger, or difficulty concentrating
  • Negative thoughts about yourself or the world
  • Sleep disturbances

Common Causes

  • Experiencing or witnessing a life-threatening event
  • Physical or sexual assault
  • Childhood abuse or neglect
  • Natural disasters or accidents
  • Combat or war exposure
  • Sudden loss of a loved one
